    We start off with a few announcements and celebrate special events. Then we have a "BeActive" health break followed by coffee, tea, and homemade goodies. The rest of the morning is your free time to play games such as cards (euchre, 500, bridge), dominoes, scrabble, or checkers. The library is also open if you like to read or just sit and chat with old and new friends.  If you would like a ride just let us know.

    Family Pickleball

    This "Family Pickleball is for adults and kids to learn and have fun playing picklelball together. We will supply the paddles, balls, and coaching to get you started. Wear running shoes and bring some water.

    Pickleball – New & Recreational Players 

    Pickleball is a sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Four players use paddles made of composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a  wiffle ball, over a net. It’s fun and easy to learn.

    If you would like to learn how to play Pickleball, this is the session for you. We supply the paddles, balls and coaching to get you started.

    This class is designed to improve your posture first and foremost. You wont find traditional sit-ups in this class as you will learn to use your abdominals in all of the exercises based on body alignment and understanding of movement. Francescas goal is to increase your spinal mobility, flexibility and once again posture. It is a hands-on approach where you will be guided through tactile cueing as well as verbal to really feel the exercise. The workout is done on a mat with small equipment to assist or challenge the exercises. You will leave class feeling re-aligned, loosened up and ready for another day!

    The Yi Jin Jing exercises are centred on the twisting, flexing and stretching of the spine, with the waist as the axis.  The completion of the routines with the integration of a relaxed body and peaceful mind can improve health and fitness.  The routines take approximately 12 minutes to complete and make for a good rejuvenation exercise in daily life.

    Qi Gong and the Essence of Tai Chi for Harmony and Vitality

    With Mark Arneson

    During this 10 week course you will learn the fundamentals of Tai Chi and Qi Gong to develop relaxation, calm and mental clarity; likened to a tiger walking easefully across a meadow with a perceptible strength.

    Tai chi and Qi Gong opens you to the flow of chi in your body. Chi is the essential life force energy that creates health and vitality. It is cultivated through the practices of Qi Gong and Tai Chi.

    The class will be divided into two parts, during the first part you will practise Qi Gong exercises to contact the flow of Chi in your body.  We will then move onto the beginning movements of Yang Style Tai Chi Form and explore the two fundamental principles of Tai Chi.

    1.      Rootedness: a sense of being grounded to produce stability in your body and mind.

    2.      Maintaining a Centre of Gravity which develops both mental and physical strength and power.  

    Come discover the joy, balance and wellness Tai Chi cultivates.

    Qi Gong et l'essence du Tai Chi pour l'harmonie et la vitalité

This class includes basic breathing exercises, as well as a variety of foundational postures (standing, seated, and on the floor) to both cultivate an internal meditative experience while stretching and recharging the body. Recommended: a yoga mat, a blanket, two yoga blocks, a cushion.

    Centre Wakefield La Pêche offers 5 fun-filled days of day camp.  Our day camps will provide age specific programming  to help create a well-rounded camp experience for kids. This years theme is Around the World. We will be exploring this theme through a variety of activities such as crafts, games,  skating, sliding, adventures and sports – the perfect combination to get your
 child hooked.

    Please supply a hearty lunch, 2 snacks, water bottle, change of clothes, skates, snow pants, mittens/gloves, hats,  athletic footwear, weather appropriate clothing and anything else your child(ren) may need throughout the day.

Nos camps de jour fourniront une programmation spécifique à l'âge pour aider à créer une expérience de camp bien équilibrée pour les enfants. Ce thème des années est dans le monde. Nous allons offrir une variété d'activités telles que l'artisanat, les jeux, le patinage, les aventures coulissantes et les sports-la combinaison parfaite pour obtenir votre enfant accroché.

    Veuillez fournir un déjeuner copieux, 2 collations, une bouteille d'eau, un changement de vêtements, des patins, des pantalons de neige, des mitaines/gants, des chapeaux, des chaussures de sport, des vêtements adaptés aux intempéries et tout ce que votre enfant (s) peut avoir besoin tout au long de la journée.

    Intermediate to advanced level doubles badminton. Players are welcome from ages 15+ for regular games, and should have some prior indoor badminton experience. There are three courts which can accommodate 12 players at a time. Registration will be capped at 18 players, so register soon. Play will rotate after games.  7  weeks for $35

    Nordic Pole Walking

    Join us for our Monday Nordic Walk around the village area. The walk includes a warm-up, nordic walk, and stretches.
    Everyone is welcome and poles are provided. 

    Outdoors - dress for the weather.

    6 weeks for $30 or $5 drop-in.
