Trish Barclay’s baaaack – writing a fun NEW script for a fiddle journey across Canada – north, Métis nation, cowboy, and of course down home Maritime. Awesome local musicians on board too, like James Stephens, Deb Thomson,
Darin Hayduk and Kyle Burghout who’s been workiing with the 6 – 16 year olds this year.
It’s Fiddler’s History of Canada: THE NEXT CHAPTER; 2015 (by Gordon Stobbe, in a lively play version by Trish). Last year’s 1st installation highlighted how & where the fiddle came to Canada, this new production *//*takes the audience along on the next part of the voyage, with the fiddle traveling all across Canada creating new musical traditions as it goes — from Maritime to Métis nation, gypsy to cowboy!
