Found Object Puppetry with Ingrid Hansen of SNAFU Dance Theatre, Victoria

What the heck is a puppet? Any inanimate object you can bring to life. This workshop will investigate the fundamentals of found-object puppetry, or bringing life to ordinary household objects.

The key is to see the potential in all things.  There will be an emphasis on courage, breath, movement, creative abandon, and fun. No performance experience necessary.

Buy Now    $28.75 ($25 + tax)

This is a workshop for adults (not children).  Please bring one or more household objects to add to the pile of available materials.  Nothing precious or breakable please.   (Eg. A sweater, a spatula, a lunchbox, an old milk carton, etc )

Ingrid Hansen -- For the past seven years, Ingrid has built an ongoing collaboration with the inmates at the prison theatre company William Head on Stage.  She spent four summers performing as a lead puppeteer and voice actor on the children’s television series Tiga Talk on APTN, where she trained with Fraggle Rock puppeteer Tim Gosley.  She has toured her object-puppetry show Little Orange Man and shadow theatre show Kitt & Jane to Festivals and theatres across Canada.  Ingrid loves to teach students of all backgrounds, especially beginners, and has taught theatre workshops for children, adults, actors, dancers, puppeteers, and prison inmates.
