WORKSHOP: Intro to Instant Pot

Image result for instant pot

Saturday March 10, 2018  from  11:00am–1:00pm at Centre Wakefield La Peche

Fundraiser for the Center.

The hottest new kitchen product of the last few years has to be the Instant Pot – an amazing Canadian electric pressure cooker that also functions as a rice cooker, a slow cooker, a yogurt maker, steamer and more.

We will cover how to use a pressure cooker, the basic cooking functions (you will love everything you can use it for), safely releasing pressure and the different pressure release methods, how to cook different types of foods, and everyone will go home with the recipes to get you started.

You will learn how to cook the sought after StarBucks Sous Vide Egg Bites, an elegant Broccoli and Leek Soup, savory Roast Chicken with potatoes, carrots and gravy and a heart healthy Beet and Fresh Cheese Quinoa Salad. You’ll finish with a decadent NY-style Cheesecake  and/or Cream Brule.

Join the newly created facebook site and share your IP experience: Wakefield Instant Pot Insanity at https://www.facebook.com/groups/151313848885908/

Pressure cooking, by its very nature, is a faster and healthier way to prepare foods. Nutrients are preserved at much higher rates than other cooking methods, flavours are intensified and cooking time can be reduced by up to 70%. Throw in the fact that you are using less energy and water — how can you go wrong? Still, many of us have scary memories of old-fashioned pressure cookers, hissing, spitting and rattling menacingly away on the stove. Well, today’s new generation of electric pressure cookers are safe, easy to use and can save you hours in the kitchen.

Irene Richardson, Doreen Lemieux, and Pam Jamison will walk you through these fast, delicious and unexpected recipes that show off just how amazing pressure cooking can be. Door Prizes will be provided by our current sponsors: Epicure and Tupperware.

Spaces are limited to 20 people. Reserve your spot now.

Tickets: $20 per person (includes Instant Pot lunch and door prizes).

Instant Pot Fundraiser: Saturday March 10, 2018  from  11am–1pm at Centre Wakefield La Peche
