In this class participants will learn the Tai Chi Chuan Yang style form and a small number of Qi Gong exercises. The learning and practising of these slow, gentle, choreographed movements will help to develop strength and flexibility. The first principle of Tai Chi is becoming connected to the earth, being grounded physically and cultivating stability in movement. The focus on breathing combined with movements concentrates the mind, deepens the breath, cultivating a calm focused state of awareness. The more one relaxes deeply in the body, the more the blood and chi circulation can flow smoothly. The overall goal is a calm and peaceful mind and a relaxed healthy body.
