Le Festival TaDa ! s'ouvre le 15 septembre avec Mayfly, le joyau de notre dernier festival ! Coproduite avec le Theatre Wakefield, Mayfly met en vedette l'artiste locale Rae-Anna Maitland dans une réflexion drôle et douce-amère sur la maternité racontée à travers la métaphore du cycle de vie de l'éphémère commun. À travers l'exploration physique et le développement des personnages, Rae-Anna construit un monde où la mémoire, le moi et le monde naturel s'entrecroisent. Mayfly est écrit par Rae-Anna Maitland et mis en scène par Mary Ellen MacLean.

Rae-Anna Maitland est très enthousiaste à l'idée de présenter à nouveau sa pièce solo Mayfly à Tada ! Elle a joué récemment au Second City Conservatory Ensemble (Toronto, ON), comme Envoy dans The Balcony de Genet (Université York), comme Lead dans Fear and Misery of the Third Reich de Brecht (Université York), et comme Suzy dans 'da Kink in My Hair de Trey Anthony (CNA/Théâtre Calgary). Elle est titulaire d'une maîtrise en beaux-arts de l'Université York en interprétation théâtrale et, depuis peu, elle est la mère d'un merveilleux petit haricot nommé Finnley. Elle remercie sa famille et son partenaire, Connor, pour leur soutien indéfectible et leur humour.

TaDa Festival! opens on September 15 with Mayfly, the crown jewel of our latest festival! Co-produced with Theater Wakefield, Mayfly features local artist Rae-Anna Maitland in a funny and bittersweet reflection on motherhood told through the metaphor of the life cycle of the common mayfly. Through physical exploration and character development, Rae-Anna constructs a world where memory, self, and the natural world intersect. Mayfly is written by Rae-Anna Maitland and directed by Mary Ellen MacLean. Rae-Anna Maitland is very excited to present her solo piece Mayfly to Tada again! She recently performed at the Second City Conservatory Ensemble (Toronto, ON), as Envoy in Genet's The Balcony (York University), as Lead in Brecht's Fear and Misery of the Third Reich (York University), and as Suzy in 'da Kink in My Hair by Trey Anthony (NAC/Theater Calgary). She holds an MFA from York University in Theater Performance and recently became the mother of a wonderful little bean named Finnley. She thanks her family and her partner, Connor, for their unwavering support and humor.
