Joignez-vous à nous pour un atelier pratique de cyanotype. Créez vos propres impressions bleutées à l’aide d’objets naturels et de papier photosensible. Que vous soyez attiré par la photographie ou par des procédés artistiques uniques, cet expérience vous initie à l'art de l'impression cyanotype, où la lumière, la nature et la créativité se rencontrent.

Informations sur l'atelier :

Rejoignez l'artiste visuelle et éducatrice Emily Rose Michaud pour un après-midi de création et d'expérimentation pratique du cyanotype. Le cyanotype, également connu sous le nom de blueprint ou sunprint, est un tirage photographique qui se distingue par sa couleur bleu cyan. Ces tirages sont réalisés en traitant une surface (papier, textile, cuir) avec des sels de fer qui réagissent à la lumière UV ou à la lumière du soleil. Dans cet atelier, vous apprendrez les principes de base de la création de cyanotypes, incluant les matériaux photosensibles, le developpement et le séchage des tirages, en passant par l'expérimentation de différents objets, surfaces et traitements tels que le citron et le sel. Les participants repartiront avec une carte postale et leurs propres tirages artistiques imprimés en cyanotype. Tout le matériel est inclus dans le prix de l'atelier, mais les participants sont invités à apporter des objets personnels pour créer leur image/impression.

Biographie :

Emily Rose Michaud est une artiste interdisciplinaire et une éducatrice qui oeuvre à la croisée entre l'organisation communautaire, l'écologie et la participation citoyenne. Son art met en relief l'importance des paysages marginaux, au sein de la société, s'associe à la terre comme à un être vivant et s'exprime par le biais de moyens d'expression éphémères. Sa production artistique est variée : art nature et ses liens au lieu/territoire, installations, dessin, écrits, peinture, céramique et art d'intervention. Son œuvre a été exposée à l'échelle nationale aussi bien dans des centres d'exposition que dans des lieux et des espaces moins formels. Elle a attiré l'attention des médias internationaux pour son projet du jardin Roerich (Le Champ des Possibles) à Montréal. . Elle détient un baccalauréat en beaux-arts de l’Université Concordia et un baccalauréat en éducation de l’Université d’Ottawa. Elle vit et travaille à Chelsea, Québec. emilyrosemichaud.com

Cyanotype Workshop - Printing with Nature

Required materials: - Pen/pencil, notebook(s), water, lunch/snacks - all other materials will be provided.

Participants are welcome to bring personal objects to create their image/print. Objects must be able to sit flat on the surface of the paper and can include chains, leaves, feathers, flowers, keys, paper cut outs, etc.

Join us for a hands-on cyanotype workshop. Create your own blue-toned prints using natural objects and photosensitive paper. Whether you are drawn to photography or unique artistic processes, this experience introduces you to the art of cyanotype printing, where light, nature, and creativity come together.

Workshop info:

Join visual artist and educator Emily Rose Michaud for an afternoon of creativity and hands-on experimentation with cyanotype. Cyanotype, also known as blueprint or sunprint, is a photographic print distinguished by its cyan blue color. These prints are made by treating a surface (paper, fabric, leather) with iron salts that react to UV light or sunlight. In this workshop, you will learn the basics of cyanotype creation, including photosensitive materials, developing and drying prints, and experimenting with different objects, surfaces, and treatments such as lemon and salt. Participants will leave with a postcard and their own cyanotype art prints. All materials are included in the workshop price, but participants are encouraged to bring personal objects to create their image/print.

About the artist:

Emily Rose Michaud is an interdisciplinary artist and educator who works at the intersection of community organizing, ecology, and civic engagement. Her art highlights the importance of marginal landscapes within society, associates the earth with a living being, and expresses itself through ephemeral means of expression. Her artistic production is varied: nature art and its links to place/territory, installations, drawing, writing, painting, ceramics, and intervention art. Her work has been exhibited nationally in both exhibition centres and less formal venues and spaces. She has attracted international media attention for her Roerich Garden (Le Champ des Possibles) project in Montreal. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ottawa. She lives and works in Chelsea, Quebec.  emilyrosemichaud.com
